Housing Stabilization Fund (Toronto OW/ODSP Recipients)
The Housing Stabilization Fund (HSF) is a City of Toronto program that provides emergency financial assistance to people on Ontario Works (OW) or the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP). It helps cover urgent housing costs like rent arrears, deposits for new housing, utility reconnections, and basic furniture, with no repayment required. To apply, individuals must contact their OW or ODSP caseworker and explain their housing emergency. Eligibility requires living in Toronto, being on OW or ODSP, and showing that the housing crisis cannot be resolved through other means.

York Region Homelessness Prevention Program (HPP)
The York Region Homelessness Prevention Program (HPP) provides emergency financial support to low-income residents who are homeless or at risk of losing their housing. It offers one-time grants for costs like rent arrears, deposits, utility payments, and even emergency mortgage support. To apply, residents can contact Access York to speak with a Housing Stability Worker and may need to provide documentation proving their crisis and financial status. Eligibility is limited to York Region residents not receiving OW or ODSP, with income and housing costs below set thresholds.
